Sweet self-care

Honey is always in season—and so is pampering time. We all know honey is a tasty treat, but did you know it’s also great for your skin and hair? Treat yourself and give these online self-care hacks a try!

Face mask

Honey is a great supplement for evening out your skin tone, clearing up acne or eczema breakouts, and even speeding up the process of healing scars—and with Honeybee Heroes honey, you also get the benefits of naturally-infused fynbos, which has all sorts of benefits for your skin and wellness. Try out these two face masks, which also sound… edible?

Egg white & honey face mask:

  • 1 tablespoon Honeybee Heroes honey

  • Whites from one egg, separated into a small bowl

Mix until combined. Apply the mask all over your face and wash off once you feel your skin start to tighten.

Tumeric face mask:

(this is great for brightening up the skin, but don’t overdo the turmeric!):

  • 1 tablespoon Honeybee Heroes honey

  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric

  • ½ teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice

Mix and apply the mask. Leave on for 10 minutes or until it hardens slightly, then wash off with warm water.

Body scrub

Body and foot sugar scrub:

  • ¾ cup brown sugar

  • 4 tablespoons Honeybee Heroes honey

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Mix, massage into skin to exfoliate, then wash off in the shower.

Hair mask

Honey is jam-packed with emollients to make your hair shine, and it’s a humectant, meaning it helps to keep moisture in. Add this hair mask to your weekly routine!

Yogurt and coconut hair mask:

  • 2 tablespoons plain yogurt

  • 1.5 tablespoons Honeybee Heroes honey

  • ½ teaspoon coconut oil (or less, for shorter hair)

Mix in a bowl and work into your scalp all the way through your ends. Leave for 15 minutes then wash your hair normally with shampoo. Repeat up to once a week.

Bath time

Nourishing bath soak:

  • 4 tablespoons Honeybee Heroes honey

  • 2 cups milk

  • A few drops of your essential oil

Add to your bath and enjoy!
